An exciting, highly sought-after opportunity to work with one of our leading subscription-based Ecommerce clients as their Head of Data. Location: London - flexible Hybrid working Salary: Competitive basic (£80,000-100,000) and 17% bonus Role description: Building a high-performing data team of senior technical experts and first-line managers. Understand impact on culture and environment, fostering high-performance standards and keeping the team motivated to achieve their goals. Nurture strong relationships with other senior managers and heads of departments across the organisation, to ensure broader alignment with strategy and delivery. Consulting the senior team on their data strategies, assisting them in navigating complex decisions and project choices within their teams. Create a set of metrics that accurately reflect the company, developing new measures as needed. Your team will analyse and interpret these metrics to provide guidance to other teams. Design and implement data governance initiatives, and collaborate with the CTOO on privacy and GDPR compliance. Skills / Qualifications required: Demonstrable experience leading data teams, keeping them engaged and inspiring them to perform at their highest potential. Ability to understand the story behind individual metrics - capable of communicating insights in an engaging and accessible manner to diverse stakeholders. Listening and storytelling skills, adept at collaborating with senior leaders to understand their challenges and provide solutions that meet their true needs, not just their initial requests. Staying inquisitive and maintaining knowledge about different operating models for data teams, with the ability to guide the team through the pros and cons of centralised and decentralised structures. Pragmatic attention to detail, capable of switching between verifying data accuracy and seeing the big picture to drive high performance across teams. Experience in managing budgets, with the ability to control costs and confidently renegotiate contracts with suppliers. Proficient in SQL and capable of working independently with new and diverse datasets, skilled in creating effective visualisations with various tools, and adept at tracing data from its origin to its application.
