DevOps Engineer Role - Berkshire UK - Upto £90,000 Plus Benefits

Austin Fraser is delighted to present an exciting new job with one of our key clients, based in Bracknell. They are looking for an AWS DevOps engineer to join their agile team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring availability and performance of the platform

  • Monitoring, deployments and constantly seeking opportunities for improvement.

You will work within Engineering and bridge the gap between development and operations, taking an active role on both sides by continuously helping to move the entire pipeline forward.

You will also work directly with the Professional Services Consulting team to understand customer deployment and performance requirements, in order to deliver ongoing customer success.

Duties:

  • Build a resilient, secure, and efficient cloud-based platform

  • Automate deployment, monitoring, management and incident response

  • Monitor and troubleshoot platform issues

  • Build and scale the technology infrastructure to meet rapidly increasing demand

  • Manage cross-functional requirements working with various company stakeholders

  • Collaborate with Development to launch new features and services

  • Develop and improve operational practices and procedures

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of experience with related tools

  • Knowledge of AWS or Cloud technologies

  • History of working with Docker, Kubernetes (Helm Charts, Istio beneficial)

  • Experience with Windows and Linux Server

  • Understanding of Java applications (specifically web-based)

  • Strong understanding of systems, networks and troubleshooting techniques

  • Experience in automated build pipeline, and continuous integration (Jenkins)

  • Working knowledge of relational databases (ORACLE, SQL Server)

  • Knowledge of cloud monitoring, logging and cost management tools (ELK, Graphana, Prometheus, APM)

  • Strong programming/scripting knowledge (e.g. Bash, Python, Powershell etc.).

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of WebLogic/Wildfly/WebSphere (Liberty Profile)

  • Knowledge of Ansible and Terraform

  • Experience with other IaaT platforms is a plus

  • Experience with agile work/issue management platforms (Jira)

  • Experience with API specifications (WSDL, OpenAPI (Swagger)
