The project supervisor works as part of a project team.
While the Associate is accountable for the project design and delivery, the project supervisor is responsible for managing the site based activity safely and to expected standards of GHP etc.
The role scope includes, understanding the project technical scope and expected final solution. Then ensuring the different subcontractor work-streams are all contributing effectively to achieving that goal.
Correct use of this clients project filing systems and standard documentation is expected when progressing the works, and prompt data management is a pre-requisite.
Has a good understanding of safety legislation and obligations that relate the work being undertaken. And is validated in the necessary Safe Systems of Work protocols, to ensure any activity on site adheres to these expectations.
Can inspect technical drawings of the proposed solution, and comprehend the construction planned from them.
Can accurately assess the installation sequence that best suits the situation. Then in conjunction with the vendor can prepare an appropriate Method Statement and Risk Assessment in advance of the works commencing.
Using the safety documentation & expectations, can prepare the work site for a project to take place, so it adheres to the GHP/GMP and safety controls expected on at the location.
Routinely attends the project site throughout a working day, to check for compliance to agreed plans by vendors, and identify changes that may impact RAMS and work sequences. Safety being the primary driver of any actions. Raises near miss reports as required to ensure there is a feedback process in place.
Has experience to inspect installation work to ensure it meets industry standards & expectations.
Able to manage a commissioning programme for the installed equipment and ensures the necessary validation and test documentation is generated and filed correctly for the project.
Has a good level of verbal and written communication skills and able to use standard Microsoft Office software.
Has a safety and quality mindset, keeping the reputation of the clients site and engineering team at the forefront of mind for the vendors.
Will escalate issues promptly if issues with site activity appear to impact the project deliverables, such as safety, quality, time, cost.
Good interpersonal skills, so can support other this clients functions adjacent to the work site, to understand the daily impacts of the project on their routines. Is able to attend daily operational review meetings to give a progress debrief and address any local concerns relating to the site.
Has a flexible approach to role and impact on a project. Daily expectations on focus and working hours might change at short notice.
Qualifications / Experience:
HND / A Levels or B-Tech level 4 in technical subjects (Maths, Physics, Engineering etc.) & minimum 3 years practical experience in relevant engineering projects. Ideally in a hygienic environment (food, pharma, semi-conductor, bio-chem etc.)
OND / Good GCSEs or B-Tech level 2 education. & minimum 7 years practical experience delivering mechanical projects in an FMCG environment. Ideally in a hygienic environment (food, pharma, semi-conductor, bio-chem etc.)
Has site management/supervision experience delivering mechanical or building projects in excess of £0.75m within the last 3 years.
Has worked in UK or similar cultural environment for minimum 1 year.
