Overview

Role: Senior Software Engineer

Job Type: Contract (Outside IR35)

Start Date: ASAP

Length: 3 Months

Location: Hybrid- Remote and 1 day per week in the office at Holborn

As a senior software engineer you will play a key role in our team of engineers designing, building, testing &
supporting web & App solutions that make out Data products accessible to users. With a passion for technology you
will help drive innovative solutions for our client, always pushing for higher standards and better quality. Hands on with our Azure tech stack you will get experience with all Front End aspects including React, Django, Azure Web apps, Azure SQL and all of our Python based APIs and Integrations .

Your main duties & responsibilities:
Design, build and unit test of aspects of our React and Django based Configuration hub and associated
Services.
Lead High and low level design, engaging and upskilling Junior team members where possible
Hands on development of React based front end, Django based API and business logic and our custom Meta/confirmation Database.
Thorough and high-quality automated Unit testing
Input into Integration, regression and use case testing
Creation of accurate, insightful & informative technical documentation
Keen and engagement member of the Agile team
High communication through the JIRA, Planned meetings and one to one connections.
High Engagement in Daily stand-ups, Sprint Refinement & Sprint Planning and Demos
Feedback and improvement through continual learning and retrospectives
Support and Maintenance of our Data management and Analytics solutions
Bug Fixes
Release warranty before Operation handover
Performance analysis & improvement

The ideal background and skills we are looking for include:
A passion for technology with a flair for finding innovative solutions
A talent for Design with a keen eye for detail, structured thinking and best practice with experience of MVC
concepts
Identifying and analysing business, client or project requirements and translating them into technical
deliverables

Experience in developing web and app solutions with the following technical skills:
Python
React
Django
Source control including branching, merging & pull requests ideally using GIT
API/Integration experience, understanding of REST, SOAP principals
Great self-starting attitude and keen to join an entrepreneurial organisation where every working day is
different
Driven, motivated and inspiring with the ability to mentor & nurture
Awareness of Data Protection, Privacy and Governance principles, e.g. GDPR
A team player who contributes to collective goals above personal gain

Experience with the following would also be beneficial:
Working within an Azure environment
Automated Unit Testing, ideally using Pytest
Typescript/D3
Spark/PySpark
Umbraco WCMS or .Net frameworks
Working within an Agile delivery framework
Object Orientated design experience
