Lead Technical Analyst 

An exciting opportunity to join one of our key clients within the Higher Education sector as a Lead Technical Analyst specialising in Microsoft 365 and cloud services. This role involves end-to-end implementation, operation, and security of Microsoft cloud-based solutions.

Location: Hybrid/Chelmsford
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and administer Microsoft cloud environments and associated tools.

  • Lead and coordinate the provision, operation, and decommissioning of ICT resources in line with IT architecture and governance.

  • Schedule and oversee maintenance activities, addressing issues promptly with minimal impact on operations.

  • Monitor capacity and performance of ICT services, reporting status and initiating actions to address shortfalls.

  • Develop, document, and promote standards, processes, and procedures related to your services.

  • Collaborate with security and technical teams to maintain infrastructure integrity and address security concerns.

  • Coordinate technical responses to major incidents, ensuring documentation and review of solutions.

  • Manage relationships with third-party providers, ensuring quality service and knowledge transfer.

  • Lead and motivate a team of Senior and Technical Analysts, fostering a customer-focused and high-performance environment.

  • Act as a key escalation point, addressing and resolving issues and complaints professionally.

  • Contribute to the development of IT strategies, policies, and standards, keeping abreast of industry developments.

Skills Required:

  • Extensive experience managing medium-scale cloud services, including provider liaison and management.

  • Proficiency in managing Microsoft 365, EntraID, and related cloud services, with a solid understanding of integration with on-site infrastructure.

  • Strong knowledge of system security, data resilience, and performance monitoring.

  • Proven track record of leading and motivating technical staff in a high-demand environment.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

  • Ability to work independently and effectively under pressure, demonstrating strong organisational and problem-solving skills.

  • Familiarity with ITIL practices and enterprise architecture principles is preferred.

Qualifications:

  • Degree or relevant professional qualification in a related discipline.

  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate or Expert in relevant fields.

  • ITIL Foundation certification; ITIL Practitioner is a plus
