Database Administrator/BI Developer - 50,000 - Oxfordshire - Hybrid
Austin Fraser has a fantastic opportunity for a Database Administrator to join a growing team. They are a global leader in the medical device design and manufacturing space. Based in the UK, and a family-run business with a large global presence.
The prime responsibility is to provide full technical support for the data held within their Manufacturing Data Systems ensuring they meet the requirements and their customers and provide SQL DBA support as a member of the IT Department.
The role:
- Troubleshooting
- Planned maintenance
- Continuous improvement activities regarding the Data warehouse, reports, dashboard and data extracts for their customers
Key Responsibilities:
- Working closely with other members of the IT team to ensure support and guidance where needed for database maintenance and monitoring.
- Provide database support to internal and external customers with a high degree of customer service
- Creation of data resource dashboards.
- Data architect for all operations-based network and data paths
- Support and enhance front end data analysis portals.
- Provide housekeeping on SQL Server Database (data correction and resend)
- Develop a CI program to centralise all MDS
- Write additional queries to summarise captured data and improve data availability and its quality for others to use
Skills:
- Knowledge and experience of Database Servers and product sets including day to day management of production systems
- Experience in SQL Server Database Administration, SQL, T_SQL etc
- Experience with database backup, restore and recovery models
- Experience of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server as well as Data Plumbing Experience - ETL, ELT, data integration, data transformation
- Microsoft Certified or Microsoft SQL Database Administrator
- Proficient in planning, organising and managing their workload to maximise their efficiency
