I’m Sam Chaher, I'm a bit of a techie and a data geek, so it's fitting that I head up Data Analytics & Data Science Recruitment for the Thames Valley.


I love working in the Data talent market; the innovation & invention you see is incredible and I’ve had the chance to meet some truly inspiring people. 


I pride myself on understanding the technical nuances of the market, and really understanding the technologies and industry trends at play so that I can offer a truly consultative experience for my clients & candidates.


To supplement my knowledge I also teach Python at a Code Club, and regularly host and attend Data Science & AI meetups to encourage collaboration within the Thames Valley Data Science community.

​As an analytics lead within a significant biopharmaceutical company, I’m often found trying to navigate the discipline of recruitment. Austin Fraser has assisted in my last 4 reach outs for hiring. Each time I have found them to be great to work with. AF are very proactive in keeping up to speed with the marketplace and have a strong network to call upon, so when we start out, I can expect aligned candidates to start rolling through. The team do a great job in keeping me up to date on candidate prospects and they’re amongst the most responsive teams I work with. I’ve found them to be extremely supportive in screening candidates as well as conducting the end to end communication. What I really like about AF is that on a few occasions when we’ve taken candidates right to the final stages, but they’re in the end unsuccessful, they have taken time to arrange debriefing interviews, in an effort to not only ‘clear the air’ between me and the candidate, but also so the candidate can potentially act on feedback. I love this mindset, it’s different, really healthy, shows AF have a genuine interest in their network and can mean that ‘next time’ is the ‘right time’ for an individual candidate. I’ve mostly worked with AF on the permanent side, but also have some experience of their capacity on the temp side too, which was also very strong. More recently I’ve worked with Sam On the permanent side, who is very gifted at what he does, hyper professional, listens and gets stuff done. Sam and AF are my go-to for anything recruitment, training and general market insight/trends.Recruitment is a two-way process, the candidate has to be right for the job, and the job has to be right for the candidate. I think Austin Fraser have this balance spot on. Highly recommend.
